Remind_me_about : Twitter Reminder service in php
remind_me_about is a new Twitter bot written in PHP. What is it all about?
remind_me_about is a reminder service using Twitter. Follow , Wait for remind_me_about to follow you back, Send your “to do”as a Direct Message and forget about it. Remind_me_about will remind you on the day.
What’s more? When you recive a DM Twitter will (may) send you and email and if you have subscribed to SMS alerts then you willrecive an SMS alert.
Rules are simple. As stated above follow remind_me_about. Wait for remind_me_about to follow you back. When you want to add a reminder, simply send a Direct Message in any of the following formats.
Bob’s birthday Tomorrow
or
Tom’s Birthday on 23/04/2009
The date format should be dd/mm/yyyy. remind_me_about notifies you if you enter a valid date format.
I will upload the source code to codeplex soon. If you find a bug please send me an email to shobankr[at]gmail.com

Hey, good to see you coming out with some great services.Hope this one too will be a successfull one
Nice bot, will profile it right away
You are not just good at coding cool apps, you also name them very well… Testing the bot
One important feature I request is the time to remind. Like I want to place a call to Tom on 25th July 2009 at 9AM, it should remind me at that time right.
Also, it going to be a hit if you accept every time zone, like adding the timezone as postscript like IST, GMT, PDT etc.
@Nischal Shetty @Pavan Kumar
Thanks for the comments guys
Pavan, I have this in mind but the problem is Twitter allows only a mximum of 250 DMs perday. So adding time is little complicated.
Timezone is in the todo list of my next version if this goes well. This service i s still in beta. When I release the source code anyone can setup their own reminder service. All they need is a server which can handle php scripts
Shoban,
It is indeed inspiring to see the passion in you churning out new apps like remind_me_about. Just two words, “Simply Brilliant”.
I can see you paving your path to MVP 2010-2011.
All the best bro.
Cheers,
Mith
if there is a 250 DMs per day, you should limit the account to follow 200 people so that the 200 people can surely receive a DM….then make another acct for the next 200 twitter accts
